Job Summary

The Executive Director of Controller leads the financial strategy and operations of the institution, providing oversight for all financial planning, analysis, and reporting. This executive role collaborates with senior leadership to ensure financial sustainability and compliance, while also driving initiatives for continuous improvement in financial processes. Responsible for establishing group/departmental/division goals, determining the resources needed to meet those goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay decisions.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Establish and execute the financial strategy of the institution to support its long-term goals and objectives.

Job Duty 2 -
Direct all financial planning and analysis activities to ensure effective resource allocation and financial sustainability.

Job Duty 3 -
Lead the financial reporting and compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify and mitigate financial risks.

Job Duty 5 -
Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.

Job Duty 6 -
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Duty 7 -
Oversee the development of financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Job Duty 8 -
Advocate for and promote financial literacy across the institution by providing training and resources to staff and faculty.

Job Duty 9 -
Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate and prioritize institutional initiatives based on financial impact.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Ten or more years of relevant experience, including six or more years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.

Preferred Experience
Two or more years of experience at the director-level.

This role will oversee, direct, and manage the financial operation and the financial system team.
This role will serve as senior resource to the Institute (academic leadership, faculty, and staff) on all financial-related issues, including serving as GTRI subject matter expert for the Unified ERP project.
This role requires advanced knowledge of cost principles and procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars is required.

Salary Range: $171,552.00 - $268,050.00
