Senior Metrologist

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Moorpark, CA

Position Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 - (Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities:



  • Technical expert that will serve as mentor for the team.
  • Responsible for administration of production workflow, training of others, and providing oversight and technical triage for customer repair items, as well as maintaining current knowledge of new technologies and products.
  • Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements
  • Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc.
  • Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable
  • Adapt existing equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks for which they are not principally used
  • Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of test and measurement equipment
  • Interact with leadership as well as other employees and departments
  • Provide support, coaching and training to employees in or around the lab and/or on the team
  • Documents work activities within the company system accurately and efficiently
  • Perform accurate equipment evaluations, configurations and upgrade and modification procedures


Responsibilities:



  • PMEL or technical degree in electronics, with equivalent knowledge and certification
  • 10+ years of experience in the electronic troubleshooting and repair industry with 1 additional year in a specialization.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation/diagnostic programming and the ability to modify or create automated test programs would be a plus
  • Posses mentoring skills as well as the ability to perform as a technical liaison
  • Must be proficient in PC operation and use as it pertains to instrument controllers and automated calibration procedures
  • Must be proficient in the products of the work group and an expert in metrology principles and repair techniques
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work multiple tasks assigned
  • Must have the ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Efficient use of equipment standards

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
