Job Title: Staff Software Engineer - Data Engineer

Location: 50 W San Fernando St., Suite 1800, San Jose, CA 95113

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in San Jose, CA.

Job Duties: Guide the creation of detailed solution artifacts that meet business needs and adhere to industry standards. Develop technology solutions in sync with our business and strategic objectives. Collaborate with Analytics' Leadership in setting the direction and establishing the technical approach for scaling and integrating the Enterprise Data Warehouse platform and associated information applications and programs. Build an Enterprise data warehousing solution with understanding of Data Modeling. Provide technical guidance with programming languages, particularly SQL, PL/SQL, Python and for multiple database platforms such as Snowflake, Vertica, SQL Server and MySQL. Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery. Work through all stages of a data solution life cycle: analyze/profile data, create conceptual, logical and physical data model designs, architect and design ETL, reporting and analytics solutions. Perform data analysis, data profiling, data cleansing and data quality analysis in various layers using Database queries in Big Data platforms. Perform data gap and impact analysis due to new data addition and existing data changes for any new business requirements and enhancements. Mentor, advise, and coach team members in technical knowledge, practices, processes, and procedures by providing a high level of expertise in technology domains.

Salary: $233,958 - $302,200/year

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have seven (7) years of experience with: Data warehouse; Data Modeling; and SQL. Must have five (5) years of experience with MPP Dbs including Vertica or Netezza or Terdata. Must have four (4) years of experience with: data platform Snowflake; ETL tools; and SQL Server, Oracle and other on prem Dbs like MySQL.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.
