JBC_P support (Sys Application Analyst 3) Fort Irwin, CA

Position is full-time exempt (salaried) working for the National Training Center Training Support Contract (NTCTSC) at the National Training Center (NTC). NTCTSC brings to bear the full capabilities of many of the world's best systems integration and engineering companies in the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support. The NTCTSC is located at Fort Irwin, CA in the Mojave Desert approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. NTCTSC operations support the NTC mission to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.

Base Responsibilities:



  • Maintain smooth operation of JCR. BFT, and FBCB2 systems.
  • Installs, tests, analyzes, and provides problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data communication network. Skill provides technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Applies technical knowledge of computers, networks, and database principals in operations troubleshooting in accordance with (IAW) applicable U.S. Army and commercial Technical Manuals (TMs), Technical Bulletins (TBs), and publications (PUBs), and applies these skills in restoring operations. Ensures complete maintenance logs and other required documentation.



Job Specific Responsibilities:



  • Install, setup, initialize, configure, troubleshoot and perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) - in accordance with (IAW) applicable Technical Manuals (TMs), Technical Bulletins (TBs), and publications (PUBs) - of NTC Operations Group (OPSGRP) Force XXI Battle Command, Brigade-and-Below/Blue Force Tracker, Joint Capability Release and Joint Battle Command Platform (FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P) systems for Combat Trainers (CTs), Commanding General (CG), and Command Sergeant Major (CSM), 11thACR and 916thSB vehicles FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P equipment, software
  • Utilize the FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P Field Service Solution (FSS) component in the performance of troubleshooting, configuring and PMCS.
  • Perform troubleshooting and PMCS - in accordance with (IAW) applicable TMs, TBs, and PUBs - of Fixed Tactical Internet (FTI) sites and vehicle-mounted EPLRS radio network equipment.
  • Functional testing consisting of performing operational diagnostic checks, and unscheduled corrective actions of computer code and system functionality.
  • Works with government customer, Team Lead, site management, and sub-contractors to ensure repair functions meet mission requirements at NTC.
  • Familiar with the National Institute of Standard, Technology Computer Security Standard, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), DOD Directive 8500.1, 8500.2, Army Regulation 25-2. Ensures all maintenance, training, supply and property process/practices supporting site operations are implemented and documented in a maintenance tracking database. Adhere to the directives, memoranda, policies, procedures and practices implemented by the company, site manager, division manager, section, team leader.
  • Work on life cycle, installs, and special projects as needed.



Required Education:



  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, Information Systems or Mathematics or related field. Required education may be substituted with 5 years plus of equivalent related training, technical school, or professional experience.


Desired Education:



  • FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P and Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) operations and maintenance certification
  • FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P software training
  • KOK-13, KOI-18, SKL encryption generators and Joint Capability Release (JCR) KGV- 72 programmable encryption device (PED) certification.


Required Experience:



  • Four (4) years of experience in networked systems, hosts, IP based networking, routers, and switches, database operations, DoD information security procedures (unclassified and classified)


Desired Experience:



  • Military experience at NTC is desired
  • Familiarity with FBCB2/BFT/JCR/JBC-P and Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) instrumentation operations.
  • Military experience as a Signal Officer or NCO.


Desired Physical Abilities:



  • Able to work long hours on a 7-day a week scheduled days, nights, and swing shifts.
  • Must be able work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind), and climbing in or on military or commercial equipment.


Special Requirements:



  • Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License, and maintain Post driving privileges.
  • Must be fluent in English, with ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Must be a U. S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET clearance.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
