V2X is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting integration and platform-level testing of advanced systems including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems. The Senior RF Systems Engineer will evaluate, analyze, integrate, maintain, and upgrade RF electronic capabilities for various air, sea, and ground platforms.

You would be part of a collaborative team, who integrate next-generation avionics and weapon systems onto ground, sea, and airborne platforms. You would represent V2X at system integration and test events with various Government customers and/or prime contractors. At those events, responsibilities include capturing and analyzing test data, troubleshooting any system issues that occur during the test event, communicating back to program leadership, and leveraging the Indianapolis-based team to root-cause any findings.

Required Skills:



  • Experience with installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of Radio Frequency (RF) electronic systems and interfaces onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.
  • Experience with RF antenna design and analysis including AESA and mechanically steerable arrays
  • Experience with RF network and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, requirements, and other engineering work products
  • Experience troubleshooting complex avionics and/or weapon systems including external interfaces and test equipment in real time when issues arise.
  • Experience writing comprehensive test reports documenting test events
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and sound judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations, determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between stakeholders
  • Excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.


Desired Skills:



  • Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.
  • Experience with maintenance, installation, and integration of weapons systems including supporting ground and flight test
  • Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF
  • Advanced understanding of RF circuit design concepts
  • Advanced understanding of RF antenna design concepts
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital data standards such as: MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, Radio Frequency (RF) communication, and ENET protocols.
  • Ability and willingness for travel to support onsite integration/test events at different domestic and international locations.
  • Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline plus:
  • At least eight years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering
