PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Shift Coordinator is accountable for the execution of administrative processes for the operation and personnel within a rotating shift environment. They are expected to understand what manpower needs are necessary for the operation. The Shift Coordinator supports the Production Shift Leader which manages and oversees all shift operations in a manner that enhances the plant's safety, engagement, cost, productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer service. This position is a development role for higher level Manufacturing Operations positions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensure timely and accurate manpower schedules in order to meet production needs.


  • Accountable for timely and accurate payroll (UKG) processing. Input and / or verify payroll records.


  • Assist with movement of manpower to cover shift needs.
  • Backfill Production Supervisor as needed.
  • Build and demonstrate manufacturing process knowledge.


  • Verify time and attendance reports.
  • Solicit overtime when necessary to satisfy operational needs.
  • Verify operational data in IPOP and SAP.
  • Assist with summary and communication shift results.


  • Maintain plant housekeeping expectations.
  • Ensure employee completion of all required safety training.
  • Participate in Safety Audits and Layered Process Audits (LPA).
  • Promote a zero-accident culture, leading by example.
  • Monitor and enforce all plant and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Provide candid feedback on expectations and performance to all members of team on regular basis.
  • Participate in and lead TPM related events and expansion areas.
  • Schedule hearing and respirator fit testing.
  • Asist HR with labor management functions that include but are not limited to scheduling and record keeping.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelors degree preferred in Engineering, Science, Operations or Business.
  • 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environment preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Experience utilizing computer programs.
  • Ability to travel, as required (0 - 5%).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to build strong team alignment and communication.
  • Ability to coach and guide for results.
  • Leads through safety and corporate vision.
  • Possesses strong process and financial acumen.
  • Possesses strong change management skills.
  • Ability to effectively drive for results in a union environment.
  • Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift in a manufacturing environment.
