Summary:

The Analyst Maintenance and Reliability supports preventative / predictive / proactive maintenance pillar and programs / capabilities and the overall improvement of operational return on invested capital across the Hershey Manufacturing network. This will be achieved in part through strong collaboration and partnering in designing, developing and implementing a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Improvement Strategy as part of Hershey Lean.

This role is part of the global manufacturing and Hershey Lean team. They will partner with plant managers, lean program leads, and other leaders across the organization. They will also identify and help implement industrywide equipment reliability best demonstrated practices.

Other focus areas:



  • Advocate for and identify improvement opportunities in such areas as continuous educational development of the maintenance work force, waste reduction, yield improvement and Operational Equipment Effectiveness, fostering or driving a culture mindset around Lean Manufacturing, world class asset reliability management methods and uptime optimization.
  • Ensure those programs are targeted to drive higher skill levels through education and training, are fully supported and implemented, gaining deeper bench strength and maintenance knowledge for maintenance staffs leading to full capability and complete readiness for day-to-day operational reliability of all plant systems by the plant maintenance staff team.
  • Provide the required leadership, technical support, and in-depth maintenance systems knowledge to support on-site Reliability Leads. This includes hands-on and theoretical support of production and maintenance staff members, full immersion into all maintenance systems, equipment repair, operational issue remediation, and an expert ability to troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and restore manufacturing and power systems to full operational capacity minimizing downtime.
  • Evaluate companywide maintenance practices to ensure the use of common approaches to maintenance work, troubleshooting and problem analysis. Be a liaison and link between the Manufacturing Progressive Maintenance Pillar the manufacturing facilities, the company-wide engineering community and the overall technical community.



Major Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Progressive Maintenance Pillar Support:


  • Primary focus is on Reliability Centered Maintenance systems for daily operations and long-term multi-system integrity and reliability. Work closely with plant maintenance resources to continuously improve Corrective, Preventive, and Condition Based maintenance tasks, average duration of maintenance tasks, frequency of maintenance tasks, and cost of maintenance tasks. Conduct annual assessments of each plant's maintenance programs.


  • Maintenance Data Analysis:


  • Assist in the creation of and monitor performance of company and departmental goal metrics and policies. Create automated processes where applicable for data extraction, report processing and report distribution. Prepare and submit monthly reports. Trend analysis of negative and positive activities of the maintenance teams. Research and analyze failure and maintenance data to determine causes of failure, failure trends, criticality rankings, maintenance improvement opportunities.


  • Maintenance Personnel Development:


  • Assist with the development of core competencies for maintenance roles within the organization. Work with the Training and Development Pillar to develop training content for the core competencies. Provide training and coaching to company wide maintenance resources as needed.


  • New Technology Identification:


  • Research new maintenance techniques and predictive maintenance technologies to identify improvement opportunities. Develop course of action for implementing new technologies into Hershey's maintenance strategies.



Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:




  • Maintenance experience with specific responsibilities related to equipment operational reliability, maintenance work practice management, TPM, CMMS / EAM, Lean usage and MRO management.
  • Experience with System Reliability analysis methods such as Fault Tree Analysis, FMECA, Life Cycle Cost, Probabilistic Risk Assessment, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Experience in Statistics or Probability theory and analysis.
  • Competent in computer programs/skills: MS Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, Power Bi, Outlook, Word, and SAP PM.
  • Ability to coach, direct and train salary and hourly maintenance personnel and other production personnel.
  • Self-starter, capable of managing multiple priorities and projects at geographically diverse locations with minimal oversight, working as a single entity with the ability to strongly influence others to gain alignment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on communication and problem resolution.



Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:




  • Bachelor of Science required in Engineering (Reliability Engineering preferred) or 5 years of experience in a related technical or maintenance role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in Operations or Corporate environments, or 5 years of experience in a related technical or maintenance role. Food industry and international experience preferred.
