OUR IMPACT

The Financial & Strategic Investors Group (FSIG) covers a broad range of financial sponsors, from the world's largest alternative asset managers to private equity firms and leading mid-market investors. The team advises senior stakeholders of our client firms across the life cycle of their investments, including investment-idea generation, leveraged buyouts ("LBOs"), financings, bolt-on acquisitions, sell side M&A and IPO exits. The group interacts extensively with partners across the Capital Solutions Group, the Global Banking & Markets division, as well as other areas of the firm, including Asset & Wealth Management. FSIG provides an outstanding platform to learn from working with bankers across all industries and products.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Investment Banking Analysts at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills.

Analysts in FSIG support senior bankers in their client coverage efforts by i) managing inventory of proprietary sponsor knowledge and content (including industry trends / outlook, potential targets, and monetization alternatives), ii) maintaining professional and timely client dialogue and responses to client requests, and iii) managing live project launch and coordination, including navigating conflicts and acquiring internal approvals.

They also act as central resource for sponsor-related activity, liaising with industry and product teams across Investment Banking and cross-divisionally to facilitate workflow involving our client base. In particular, providing thoughtful views on sponsor buyers for pitch activity and driving chases for key assets in market.

Responsibilities also include implementing and executing strategic initiatives set by leadership to strengthen internal and external relationships.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

* Undergraduate Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline is preferable

* Experience with modelling and financial statements analysis

* Strong analytical and quantitative skills

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

* Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously

* Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload

Preferred Qualifications

* Current experience as an investment banking analyst

* Private equity transaction experience

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
