Summary Responsible for the management of the Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing and Deployment organization with overall technical design, budget, and schedule responsibility for the Hardware Engineering department activities which include the following groups: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Visual Display Systems, Product Design Engineering, Test Engineering. Through carefully orchestrated planning, organizing, directing and controlling, the incumbent in this position assumes total accountability for the execution, quality and direction of the engineering scope associated with hardware engineering design, assembly, fabrication effort, initial equipment test, installation progress and results associated with any program. A high degree of hardware engineering knowledge, management acumen, organization ability, communication skills, delegation discernment and general business aptitude are essential. Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem. Recommends operational plans and tactics that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results. Directs the execution of tactics established by functional leadership. Establish operational plans for the job area with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-2 years). Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources and occasionally influences business decisions made by functional leadership. May recommend and implement new products, processes, policies, standards or operating plans in support of job function strategy. May have budget or Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability for the department.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
