Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) is seeking a Regional Medical Director for the Maryland Suburbs Region. The Regional Medical Director (RMD) reports to the Vice President of Medical Affairs of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and may serve as a Chief of Specialty. The RMD directs the Office Medical Directors (OMD) as well as other physicians and providers in the designated practices and represents the interests of the practices to the executive management team. The RMD functions as a member of the senior management team of JHCP and is responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of an organizational strategic plan, which is compatible with JHM and JHCP's annual planning and budgeting goals and objectives. The RMD will work to oversee the operation of the departments within the region and is responsible for those departmental budgets and planning direction. The RMD will realize and be accountable for responsibilities through personal leadership, persuasion, example, reason and the promotion of cooperation among all involved with JHM and related affiliations. Position is located in Bethesda, MD.

Education



  • Graduate of an accredited Medical School is required and completion of a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Care Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program.


Knowledge/Skills



  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in the department.


  • Ability to learn and efficiently use a computer based electronic medical record.
  • Excellent interpersonal and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills necessary to interact with JHCP providers, staff and a diverse patient population.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to synthesize and summarize information, and make judgments regarding patient care.
  • Ability to proficiently document appropriately in electronic medical record.
  • Proficiency in electronic communications.


Required Licensure, Certification, etc.



  • Board Certified in a field of medical/surgical specialty relevant to JHCP Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5-7 years clinical practice experience after residency.
  • Minimum 2 years in a clinical leadership/administrative leadership position.
