Procurement and Logistics Specialist
Purpose:
- Valkyrie is hiring for a Procurement and Logistics Specialist to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) solutions in our Huntsville, AL location.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, receiving, and handling.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following): Assists in the creation and submittal of procurements, and then serves as the lead receiving and property manager at the Valkyrie Huntsville facility.
- Assisting personnel in preparing procurement requests and associated documentation
- Receiving and handling items that are delivered
- Timely, accurate and extensive record keeping of property received or transferred
- Timely communication with personnel when items arrive
- Completing and managing government property transfer forms
- Transferring items occasionally to personnel or facilities located on Redstone Arsenal
- Maintaining clear, consistent and regular communication with the lead procurement officer
- Potential additional roles and responsibilities include:
- Assisting in safety and environmental assessment activities at Valkyrie and the labs that Valkyrie develops and operates on Redstone Arsenal
- Regular reporting (i.e., weekly or monthly) requirements of activities
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience and Bachelors Degree in a related field.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic high paced work environment.
- Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Office.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with receiving, shipping, and handling property, preferred.
- Experience with U.S. Government Property transfers, preferred.
- Experience with creating Purchase Requests and/or Purchase Orders, preferred.
- Experience working with DOD or other Federal Government Agencies, preferred.
- Experience with CostPoint, preferred.
- Proficiency in MS SharePoint and Teams, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements
- May require working in an office, industrial, and laboratory environment.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
- Work that includes moving objects that are 20 pounds.
