We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of US Onshore Commercial Strategy Specialist for Compression within our Supply Chain Management group based in Houston, TX with travel to Midland, TX, Colorado and Wyoming on occasion.

General

The Commercial Strategy Specialist for compression is responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies to grow the business in the area of compression rentals, purchases, and related support for such equipment. The individual in this position will conduct market research, analyze competitor data, develop and negotiate contracts, track the effectiveness of commercial strategies, work with SAP and Ariba to manage contracts and work with a team of engineers, technicians, and professionals to grow and/or enhance the business.

Responsibilities
* In this role, interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, innovation and integrity will be key as the position will act as a central point of contact between corporate function stakeholders, vendor representatives and other various key functional stakeholders including Legal, Audit, HES and AP and Lease Accounting
* Responsible for maintaining regular lines of communications with vendors in the assigned categories to determine capacity, competencies, and cost competitiveness will be part of the day-today activities
* Responsible for continuously seek ways to identify and execute improvement opportunities to reduce overall cost related to assigned categories' services & equipment sourcing
* Responsible for vendor selection and prequalification
* Responsible for contacting existing and potential new vendors
* Responsible for preparing pre-qualification questionnaires and issue to potential vendors.
* Responsible for developing evaluation matrices and lead evaluation and selection of of the best vendor
* Responsible for completing bidding cycle for small/medium/large projects
* Responsible for preparation and follow up of NDA's
* Responsible for preparation of Request for Proposal package including technical, legal and commercial documentation and requirements.
* Responsible for developing evaluation matrices and leading the evaluation and selection of best proposal.
* Responsible for assisting and potentially leading RFP processes (invite, evaluate including total life cycle cost, negotiate)
* Responsible for negotiating applicable Master / Purchase Order Terms and Conditions
* Responsible for awarding contracts
* Responsible for assisting and following up with vendor registration matters
* Responsible for preparing, submitting and negotiating contract terms and conditions with Legal support (master service agreements, commercial terms, and purchase orders, etc.)
* Responsible for contract management using Oxy's ERP - Ariba/SAP system
* Responsible for actively managing contracts regarding proposed change orders and schedule issues
* Responsible for filing all related sourcing and contractual documentation in Ariba
* Responsible for using the Ariba/SAP system to manage the contract life
* Responsible for issuing PO's in alignment with Outline Agreements and approved funds
* Responsible for issuing standalone PO's as required
* Responsible for acting as central point of contact between business unit proponents, vendor representatives, and other key stakeholders including HR and Legal
* Responsible for invoicing support and troubleshooting on assigned contracts/PO's
* Responsible for coordination with AP and Proponent, making sure invoicing and payment activities are completed as per the agreements.
* Responsible for monitoring assigned contracts to ensure suppliers comply with the terms and conditions
* Responsible for participating in Supplier Performance Meetings

Expected Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain Management
* Strong contract analysis, drafting and negotiation skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to communicate thoughts in a clear, concise, coherent manner
* Strong time management skills, high level of organization, and detailed oriented
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Strong cross-functional communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills
* Strong knowledge of basic analytical and Microsoft Office software programs
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, decisiveness, and to exhibit sound judgment
* Must be comfortable with change in all its facet and be to help assist others through change

Desired Qualifications

* Knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes (preferred)
* Knowledge of leasing and lease accounting principles

* Knowledge of MS Power Apps

* Systems - SAP, Ariba, Oracle, Spotfire
