Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Are you passionate about scientific discovery and eager to contribute to groundbreaking research in cancer and biomedical science? We are seeking a Metabolomics Specialist to join our cutting-edge research team. In this role, you'll work collaboratively with both internal and external scientists, contributing to projects that are shaping the future of cancer treatment and personalized medicine.

As a key member of the team, you'll apply your expertise to conduct laboratory experiments, support scientific studies of moderate complexity, and help drive forward the innovative work happening across our institution. Role Overview:

* Conduct experimental tests for Investigators using existing techniques.
* Prepare laboratory equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other supplies as instructed for research experiments.
* You will be involved in animal handling requiring injection of animals, collection/harvesting of tissues, and fluids; animal autopsies to make chemical identification, and conducting analyses.
* Provide assistance with other ongoing research for peers and research personnel in the laboratory by completing tasks related to the projects within the deadline specified.
* Perform necessary analysis and calculations, record data, and write reports on research findings.
* Perform queries of pertinent data/information that are both accurately formatted and presented according to the preference of the lab head; recommend changes and/or additions to established data fields.
* Follow the guidelines for expenditures by acquiring prior approval for all
* Participate in the implementation of Quality Assurance and Improvement programs.
* Be involved in proficiency testing and preparation of reports by following outlined technical procedures.
* Adhere to documented procedures for management staff, clinical staff, and researchers by keeping up to date on new and improved procedures.
* Responsible for mentoring junior lab members

Key Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Biology, or Analytical Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry
* Previous Experience or research in Metabolomics

Core Skills:

* Strong documentation, data management, and scientific communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment
* Commitment to scientific integrity, quality control, and continuous improvement

Additional Information:

* Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5, onsite
* Location: 417 E. 68th Street, NYC
* Reporting to: Director, Cell Metabolism Core Facility
