Direct management, direction, and administration of Enterprise Imaging IT team and resources.Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates advanced subject matter knowledge.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Manages subordinate staff to ensure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human resources) in compliance with organizational goals and objectives.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines optimal deployment of resources to meet schedules and attain goals. Provides guidance to subordinates to accomplish objectives and achieve goals in accordance with established polices.
Oversees a team of technical professionals in the development and implementation of IT and clinical systems and projects focused primarily within clinical imaging domains.
The position provides strategical plans to clinical department administrators, cross-functional teams, and subject matter experts throughout the delivery process. This includes all aspects of systems implementation from requirements gathering, analysis and design, configuration, and test, through deployment and support of various healthcare clinical, content management and imaging applications. This position collaborates with clinical and non-clinical department administrators throughout the Health System and remote clinics sites, on strategic planning for their future imaging requirements and expansion of current solutions.
Provides guidance and assists with development, training, and implementation of new technologies and applications. Manages the clinical imaging and non-clinical technical requirements of assigned UC Davis Health departments.
Provides application program development, strategic planning, application evaluation, estimates of costs, resource needs, budgets, support requirements and testing of distributed clinical information systems, user support systems and executing them through subordinates.
Serves as an expert resource for all UC Davis Health departments in need of clinical imaging technologies to support their departmental requirements. Ensures departmental technology plans and goals are in alignment with Health System technology strategy, standards, and infrastructure requirements. Works collaboratively with a wide variety of UC Davis Health departments to identify clinical imaging technology integration requirements and develop strategies to satisfy those needs. Leads and conducts the development of all components of clinical and non-clinical imaging applications and ensures interoperability with downstream applications.
This position leads the development of project plans, implementation schedules, work plans and resource allocations for multiple, concurrent departmental and functional unit information systems projects required to achieve departmental objectives and standards of quality.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 3 or more years' experience supporting complex medical imaging technology and content management platform
- 3 or more years' experience providing support to clinical stakeholders of content management and clinic imaging systems including, but not limited to: Radiology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, PCN clinics, Radiation Oncology, Orthopedic Surgery and others
- Strong technical background with demonstrated competency in clinical imaging workflows and following areas: Strong critical-thinking, project-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret complex data and systems, to quickly identify problems and implement technical solutions
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior management on operational and performance issues in developing goals, objectives, policies, strategies, quality improvement programs, systems for monitoring and ensuring user competence on clinical applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train users and to successfully manage extensive cross-functional interactions between the Enterprise Imaging team, users, related personnel and outside vendors.
- Ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and specific manner and to cultivate strong commitment to quality and achievement of goals
- Strong knowledge of healthcare information technology, clinical workflow and processes and medical terminology.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical imaging and non-clinical imaging application and integration with clinical processes and workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Visage Imaging PACS, ImageStream Medical, Hyland OnBase, PacsGear and other niche clinical imaging applications
