Job Description

To ensure the Steam/Power Plant is well maintained and reflects and image of outstanding quality.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Maintain all aspects of the steam/power plant...
  • Complete general maintenance of powerhouse equipment
  • Order supplies, replacement parts and fuel for boilers
  • Maintain plumbing in the powerhouse
  • Complete water tests and keep records of fuel and water consumption
  • Maintaining appropriate chemical level in cooling towers for the chill water system and softening water for the boiler and laundry
  • Supply hot water and heat to the Virginia Building as well as the resort
  • Ensure a clean safe environment at the Steam/Power Plant
  • May be necessary to ensure the operation of a generator during power outages.
  • Other duties as may be necessary
  • Monitor the operations of boilers, chillers, pumps and laundry equipment.
  • Building the firepit and lighting daily

Tools and Equipment:

  • Telephone, pen/pencil, copier
  • Small Hand Tools

Working Environment:

  • Interior of resort, in all areas of the resort
  • Exterior of resort with exposure to all weather conditions
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals possible.


Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Must possess painting, basic plumbing, basic electrical, minor carpentry, lighting and computer skills.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
  • Prior building maintenance experience and/or relevant technical training
  • Walk, stand, climb, bend, reach over-head, squat and kneel for long periods at a time, as the position requires constant motion. Crawling for short periods of time.
  • Move, lift, carry and push items weighing up to 50-100lbs without assistance. Candidates must be able to utilize step stools and ladders effectively.
