Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
- Discusses with the Chef daily about menu and food prep for following day.
- Discusses with the Chef or department management about special ingredients that may be needed or faulty equipment.
- Measures ingredients using cups, spoons, and scales.
- Mixes ingredients for product based on standard recipes by use of proper equipment.
- Cuts baked goods into serving size portions when cooled.
- May assist in planning production according to daily requirements.
- Participates in monitoring of food quality, seasoning, and temperatures.
- Assists with the completion of production records to include used and unused portions and shortages of product.
- May do Second Cook duties as needed.
Food Safety/Sanitation
- Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures by following HACCP standards.
- Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
- Handles food items appropriately during preparation.
- Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed production standards.
- Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned.
- Cleans equipment, as assigned, and in a timely fashion.
- Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
Physical Safety
- Ensures corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed.
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
- Cleans up spills in the serving, dining area, the work area immediately.
Corporate Standards
- Completes shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards.
- Informs the Chef or department management in a timely manner when supplies are low.
- Follows and observes all company policies and procedures.
- Follows company standards for attendance and punctuality.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed in accordance with company standards.
- Develops a positive working relationship with coworkers and customers and avoids conflict.
- Attends training sessions.
- Assist other functions as needed.
Corporate Compliance
- Complies with safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to laws regarding the protection, use, disclosure, and release of client and CJE business information.
- Attends required in services.
- Reports violations of law, regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Reports client abuse or neglect.
- Records documentation timely, accurately, and completely.
- This position has responsibility for HIPAA compliance.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is not likely to occur in this position.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

- Must have a valid food handler's permit.
- Must have a valid Serve Safe Certificate.
