While reporting to the Sales Manager for the Rigid Paper Containers Division, as an Account Representative, you will be responsible for coordinating all direct sales activities related to key growth target platforms, markets and prospective and existing accounts found within assigned area of responsibility. Maintaining regular contact with those targets to grow our business and seek out new products and service opportunities. Included in this position are the day-to-day account activities that drive our organization to deliver superior service and product quality, establish strong relationships with the customer (plant, technical, supply chain and purchasing), prepare and executing a growth account plan, market analysis, planning analysis and strategic leadership to deliver profitable growth enhancing Sonoco's overall position in all markets.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for Territory Building and developing a comprehensive strategy to establish and expand A&S presence in your assigned territory. Will manage territory and travel to optimize interaction with customers and budget.
  • Assists in the development and negotiation of contract proposals, ensures implementation and proper execution.
  • Monitors closely all activity at each customer location and reports on expansions, closings, business trends, and all other factors impacting volume levels.
  • Sales Cycle Management and leading the entire sales process, from initial outreach and needs assessment to proposal delivery and contract negotiation.
  • Uses technology and management of - remote meetings, Microsoft, CRM, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Logility, etc.
  • Prepares proposals, quotes prices, and promises delivery within established limits and success criteria.
  • Delivers annual target of net profitable growth through new business and existing customer network.
  • Client Relationship Management responsibilities including engaging with decision-makers at various levels, including procurement, supply chain managers, and business owners, to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Maintain existing sales and actively seek opportunities resulting in profitable growth. Determine potential opportunities from marketing leads, cold calls and other sources. Responsible for identifying opportunities and market analysis within assigned territories. Analyze customer and market needs, pricing models and manufacturing input.

This position is remote, but some travel will be needed as accounts develop and to manage territory.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or Equivalent Experience.
  • Detail oriented and Project management skills.
  • Analytical expertise and Financial Acumen/Costing.
  • Relationship building (customer focused).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.

Compensation:

This is a progression position and could be an Account Rep level I, II or III.Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate's experience and education, and current business needs.

The annual base salary range for this role is from:

Account Representative I: $56,256 to $63,288.

Account Representative II: $75,328 to $84,744.

Senior Account Representative: $92,064 to $103,572.
