JOB TITLE:

Assessment & Faculty Development Specialist

JOB PURPOSE:

Lead assessment and faculty development initiatives for the University Studies Program (USP), ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals. Oversee the design, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive program assessment cycle, utilizing data-driven insights to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to foster a culture of inquiry, transparency, and strategic improvement in curriculum and pedagogy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive assessment cycle for the USP, encompassing data collection, committee collaboration, and coordination with faculty and instructors.
  • Facilitate and oversee the organization, management, and analysis of student learning evidence and assessment data.
  • Ensure effective communication and cooperation among stakeholders to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to examine, interpret and analyze assessment data and student learning evidence, ensuring transparency and accessibility for informed decision-making.
  • Apply critical analysis to inform opportunities for advancement and guide faculty and instructor development and support.
  • Facilitate faculty and instructor development by providing USP assessment cycle data, metrics, rubrics, and learning outcomes, while fostering a culture of continuous inquiry and improvement.
  • Leverage data and evidence to inform pedagogical practices and strategic approaches aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
  • Integrate USP assessment efforts with broader institutional assessment initiatives, effectively articulating the interconnectedness of assessment systems and their campuswide impact on student learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Master's degree is required. Preference to degrees in higher education, assessment, administration or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: At least one year of experience in higher education and/or teaching and learning.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong Organization Skills.
  • Excellent Verbal, Written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute a university wide vision while attending to day to day details and functions.
  • Ability to analyze multiple data points to inform and guide pedagogy and curriculum
