Job Description
The Sr Director, Global Talent Intelligence, TA Programs & TA Operations will lead global talent intelligence, sourcing, data driven recruitment strategy and operational excellence with the goal of becoming a leader in the market by transforming and advancing hiring practices, drive process simplification and implement new ways of working using AI and automation to achieve operational excellence.
In this pivotal leadership role, s/he will bridge the gap between business strategy and talent acquisition by providing data-driven intelligence that informs critical hiring decisions across our global organization. In addition, s/he will create the Center of Operational Recruitment Excellence globally including developing TA strategies, optimizing recruitment processes leveraging data and technology providing training and support to recruiters and hiring managers.
S/he will report to the VP, Talent Acquisition and will be a member of the Talent Acquisition Leadership Team. This role is hybrid (3 days a week in the office) and will require relocation to Boston.
Collaborate with HR Technology teams to implement and optimize talent intelligence platforms and tools and partner closely with People Strategy & Analytics (PSA), Data Technology & Engineering, Data Science and Competitive Intelligence teams.
Dive Deep into Talent Markets: Become an expert in key talent market dynamics. You'll analyze emerging skills, workforce demographics, competitive intelligence (talent movements, profiles hired, etc.), best practices in talent acquisition, and talent flow analytics to predict future trends.
Forecast Talent Needs: Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses, including predictive modeling, to understand talent market dynamics and forecast future talent needs. This includes forecasting talent availability, assessing the impact of economic trends, and contributing to location strategies analysis.
Master Data & Tools: Utilize advanced analytics tools, market intelligence platforms (e.g., Draup, LinkedIn Insights), and databases to collect, analyze, and synthesize talent-related data. You'll also maintain data integrity and ensure the reliability of information sources.
Subject Matter Expert: Be a recognized expert on labor markets, industry trends, and research methodologies, providing valuable insights to the Global TA Leadership.
Talent Sourcing/Attraction Excellence/Recruitment Marketing
- Design and implement innovative, multi-channel sourcing strategies for critical and hard-to-fill roles across global markets
- Establish a centralized sourcing center of excellence that supports business units with specialized candidate identification techniques
- Develop and optimize sourcing playbooks that leverage AI, automation, and digital engagement technologies
- Create metrics-driven frameworks to evaluate sourcing effectiveness, efficiency, and return on investment
- Build proactive talent pipelines for Key Priority Roles with TA and Succession Planning with Executive Search through market mapping, competitive intelligence, and passive candidate engagement
TA Operational Excellence & Enablement
- Standardization and boost credibility for consistent service delivery across Vertex's footprint
- Work with VP of HR Operations/Digital Innovation on the TA Tech Stack as it ties into the overall HR digital/data strategy

Talent Market Research Expertise: 6+ years of hands-on experience in global talent intelligence, market research and data analysis, with a proven track record of uncovering and interpreting workforce trends. You should possess a deep understanding of talent market dynamics, including emerging skills, workforce demographics, competitive intelligence, talent flow analytics, and best practices in talent acquisition.
Data Analytics & Visualization Skills: You'll need to be proficient in Excel. Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools is crucial. You should be able to collect, clean, analyze, and synthesize large datasets and translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: The ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights that drive hiring success is essential. You should be familiar with various research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) and have the ability to design and execute research projects.
Technology Proficiency: Hands-on experience using talent intelligence platforms (e.g., Draup, LinkedIn Insights, Gartner Talent Neuron) to gather and analyze labor market data is a must.
Excellent communication skills are key, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing. Experience creating compelling presentations and reports that tell a story with data is essential.
Collaboration & Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills are crucial, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present insights to leadership teams. You should have a strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including TA Strategy Leads, HRBPS, Total Rewards, People Strategy & Analytics and external partners.
