The Assistant Foreman Automation is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily tasks in the automation department, ensuring the safe and technically correct installation of automation and communication equipment. The role involves formulating and managing projects, optimizing operating expenses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for efficient project completion. The role includes training teams, establishing issue resolution processes, and championing best practices. The role also oversees compliance with regulations, guides, and mentors the team, and contributes to employee development and operational processes. * Supervises and coordinates the daily tasks of the automation department, ensuring safe and technically correct installation of automation and communication equipment, including Process Control Systems, Safety Instrumented System (SIS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), aligning with oil and gas production standards. * Formulates and manages electrical, automation, and communication projects, establishing bidding requirements and scopes for seamless execution. * Optimizes operating expenses, monitoring and controlling costs related to automation projects, ensuring budget efficiency and resource optimization. * Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Facilities Engineers and Contractors, to define, organize, and complete projects efficiently. * Trains teams in device creation, logic testing, and troubleshooting of field devices, enhancing their capabilities in automation systems. * Establishes processes for issue resolution, introduces hardware and software solutions, and supports system operators in utilizing automation systems effectively. * Collaborates with the corporate automation group, disseminating and implementing automation policies and recommendations to the team and ensuring alignment. * Champions best practices, mentors, reviews, and develops automation personnel, contributing to the continuous improvement and success of the team. * Ensures compliance with all applicable state/province and federal regulations, maintains regulatory compliance, and applies organizational policies throughout the automation team's operations. * Guides and mentors the team, actively contributing to employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and overseeing operational processes. Education: * High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education and/or commensurate work experience is required. Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or any other related discipline is preferred. Experience: * 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Oilfield Automation, Instrumentation, Production Operations, Process Control Device Integration or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
