Typical Day: A typical day entails working with a large team to operate and maintain the FBI's CJIS IT infrastructure using the SAFe methodology Tasks:
- Collaborate with network administrators, project managers and other network engineers to perform their job duties.
- Implementing, diagnosing, and repairing network issues.
- Developing networks and coordinating with team members to identify network needs.
- Analyze user needs and develop solutions.
- Aid employees and other individuals on how to maintain the network effectively.
- Establishing, developing, and maintaining computer networks between organizations utilizing existing infrastructure.
- Maintain network security ensuring that network data remains secure.
- Providing support to all users, including team members and law enforcement partners, and fixing any issues that occur.
- Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- Designing new networks with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
- Maintaining computer infrastructure, network hardware and other related IT systems.
- Troubleshooting potential network issues.
- Collaborate with Senior level employees and leadership on issues that require guidance.
- Replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise.
- 5-10 years of experience working with advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Junos Operating System (JUNOS), and Internetwork Operating System (iOS).
- Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.
- Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with network analysis tools including Riverbed, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Splunk.
- Proficiency with coding languages including Linux and Ansible.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
- High-level problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology preferred.
