Typical Day: Typical day entails working with a large team to operate and maintain the FBI's CJIS IT infrastructure using the SAFe methodology Tasks:
- Maintain computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware.
- Install and configure network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues.
- Update virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.
- Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.
- Communicate networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users.
- Fix software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues quickly to minimize downtime
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration.
- Knowledge of network protocols, standards, and devices (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Familiar with network security principles and practices (e.g., firewall configuration).
- Knowledgeable with network operating systems (e.g., Windows Server) and management tools (e.g., Cisco IOS).
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
Desired Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
