This position is contingent upon contract award. We are currently pursuing a proposal and are seeking qualified candidates to include in our submission and identify candidates for future hiring needs on the program once awarded. For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Lead Infrastructure Engineer.

Work & Complexity: Directs cross-team programs, performs advanced tuning, implements high availability/failover architectures, leads audits, plans growth, and manages budgets. Perform the Enclave Administrator (EA) role on behalf of the Customer, including deployment and maintenance of Mission Enclave infrastructure and all application-related responsibilities on Mission Enclave environment. System health monitoring include Azure Solution System Health, Program Application availability, and Capacity Management. Operational System Management (trouble tickets) - input, re-route, field, and escalate as appropriate. Conduct appropriate troubleshooting and remediation activities to include coordinating with System Owners, Product Team, and Migration Team for issues and coordinating with the appropriate team and/or personnel. Participate in planning sessions, and technical presentations, with customer project leads and staff. Analyze technical requirements and develop effective solutions. Complete regular maintenance on all systems / applications. This includes regular patching and vulnerability remediation and addressing end of service/end of life replacements. Complete approved configuration updates/changes and escalate where required if high-level architectural updates are needed. Sets up and delegates application-related responsibilities to Customer Mission Applications Administrator (MAA) role, which we provide to our Customer and their Mission Partners so they can administer applications within their enclave. Work closely with Customer as shared technical lead. Enable development, analysis, and deployment to be delivered on schedule and in line with Customer requirements.
Location and Travel Details: This opportunity is client facing in the Lorton, VA area and requires full onsite presence. Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements:
Employment is contingent upon the candidate renewing or obtaining the CompTIA Security+ certification (or higher-level security credential) within the first 30 days of onboarding and renewing or obtaining the Microsoft AZ-104 certification within 90 days of joining the program. Required for This Opportunity:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent industry work experience) 8+ years of relevant engineering experience Experience with Kubernetes - Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a plus Azure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and strong DevSecOps experience (Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, CLI) Experience in one, or more, of the following: Cloud technologies, data and AI, security, business application design and implementation Ability to self-manage for maintenance of workloads and ensuring appropriate support of all systems/applications/workloads existing within the enclave (operational boundary)
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Cross Domain Solutions - Azure Data Transfer (ADT) is a plus Certifications in Microsoft products, including Azure and Windows Familiarity with C4 networks / operating environments and SAP networks / operating environments preferred Experience supporting enterprise systems and applications such as VDI, database systems, web servers, etc. Strong understanding of networking principles like IP addressing, firewall rules, and routing. Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloudarchitectures Experience with agile development tooling and practices. Direct customer relationship management, supporting prioritizations and workload management.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $121,000-$182,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
