Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to oversee high-performing teams and drive excellence, quality outcomes, and exceptional customer service across nursing at Sentara RMH. This director-level role is responsible for the strategic and financial success of assigned departments and will align nursing initiatives to meet division and system goals.

More specifically, this position will:

  • Oversee all nursing professional development programs, including onboarding, transition to practice programs, and continuing education.

  • Cultivate mentorship for nurses at all levels.

  • Support academic partnerships and manage clinical placement, internships, and preceptorship programs.

  • Promote and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care to improve patient outcomes.

  • Lead and support nursing research initiatives and innovation in clinical practice.

  • Serve as liaison to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for nursing-led research projects and advanced degree mentorship.

  • Champion quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with nursing and clinical leaders.

  • Monitor and analyze nursing quality indicators to inform practice improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with the Magnet Program Director to advance the culture of nursing excellence.

  • Serve as a collaborative partner across departments to promote shared governance and a culture of excellence.

  • Engage with external nursing organizations, academic institutions, and community partners to support excellence in nursing.

Education/Experience

  • BSN (Required)

  • 5 years of Nursing Management experience (Required)

Certification/Licensure

  • Active Virginia RN license or Compact/Multi-State License (Required)
