Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to work in the Health Informatics Department.
The Temporary Research Assistant will be onsite to support the Center for Biomedical Informatics & Health Artificial Intelligence's 2025 Summer Bootcamp in Biomedical Data Science and Health AI, from July 28 - August 8, 2025. The Temporary Research Assistant will support the preparation and delivery of lectures, configure various bioinformatics tools, analyze data, and support Bootcamp students, assisting with installing, debugging, and troubleshooting as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist lecturers with the preparation and delivery of lectures.
  • Assist students in the understanding and preparation of high-performance computing (HPC)-based jobs using Amarel by OARC.
  • Configure and use bioinformatics tools and AI/ML applications.
  • Download and analyze datasets and reproduce results.
  • Assist students with debugging and troubleshooting machine learning tools in R and Python.

Mid Range Salary 75.00
Maximum Salary 150.00

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor degree required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess interest and knowledge in transcriptomics (RNA-seq) data handling, processing, and analysis.
  • Must have knowledge of bioinformatics pipeline development, execution and debugging.
  • Must have an understanding of AI/ML algorithms.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced programing knowledge in R and Python programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master preferred.
