About the role

The Logistics Coordinator will support and work under the Transportation Manager while assisting with all localized activities of Bulk, Roll-off, and non-bulk transportation and equipment management. The Logistic Coordinator will work very closely with the Dispatch team, our Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager, and expected to help the Transportation Manager provide strong leadership to the transportation department to maximize operations.

Position Responsibilities:

* Assist with developing, maintaining, and promoting elite workplace safety, quality, performance, appearance, and effectiveness by conducting weekly safety updates, weekly truck inspections (cleanliness of equipment), and report feedback to the Transportation Manager.

* Accurately completes DOT mandated paperwork, manifests, labeling, bill of lading, etc.

* Learns compatibility and other technical rules/DOT permitting the optimization and safe use of all rolling stock assets

* Assists in truck registration

* Maintain comprehensive driver file management

* Enforce training compliance for drivers

* Assist with managing and executing quarterly driver ride along to conduct driver and route audits.

* Performs daily yard audits for accuracy of reporting

* Coordinate with maintenance team for DOT inspection or preventative maintenance

* Ensures all permit books for each tractor or truck are up to date.

* Monitor Samsara driver utilization and route management and provide a feedback summary to the transportation manager and share with the impacted drivers when necessary.

* Receive fuel delivery tickets monthly and help monitor fuel trends of drivers, trucks, and routes.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Track record of proven customer service skills including excellent communication at all levels of interaction.

* Scheduling within a fast paced, client driven environment within the transportation.

* Ability to work under demanding conditions and respond in a professional and timely manner.

* Exceptional organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.

* Daily prioritization of work activities and optimization of company resources.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

* Preferred (or willingness to complete the training and obtain) knowledge of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste.

* Preferred Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement and tanker endorsement

Shift: Typically Monday through Friday days with occasional Saturdays

Physical Demands of the Role:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard

* Works with frequent interruptions

* Regular attendance

* Ability to climb up and around tanks

* Ability to lift/carry 50lbs

* May require working in various weather conditions
