Systems Safety Engineer needed for a direct-hire opportunity with SOC's client to work on-site in Bridgeton, MO *Secret clearance required* Job Responsibilities Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems Attend classified and unclassified test events and discuss safety measures between partner companies and customers Communicate with subcontractors and understand the requirements being flown down Ensure all systems comply with MIL-STD-882E or other applicable government standards Capture and document safety analysis and findings in the form of Systems Safety Program Plan (SSPP) and Safety Assessment Report (SAR) Review engineering changes/mishaps and confirm all design changes are thoroughly incorporated into the system Assess and track mitigation of software and firmware related hazards Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required Work with other disciplines to ensure the customer needs are met May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field At least 2 years of Systems Safety Engineering experience with DoD contracts Strong analytical and organizational traits to develop system safety skillset and effectively support the customer Knowledgeable in technical writing to assist with the preparation of reports of complex systems Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance is required Ability to travel to support program events (tests, program reviews, etc.) and training activities 20% of the time Experience utilizing MIL-STD-882E to compose a System Safety Program Previously acted as the designated Systems Safety Engineer for a program Employment Prerequisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.
