Description
Position Summary: As part of the IT team, the Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible in designing, managing and optimizing GNY's cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role will be responsible for working with the IT leadership team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud environments, integration with GNY's on-premise environments, while also supporting the deployment and management of cloud-based applications and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage cloud services on Azure and AWS, including virtual machines, storage, networks, and databases.
- Monitor cloud resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
- Implement and manage cloud security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and firewall rules.
- Deploy and configure cloud-based applications and services using best practices and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation).
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing infrastructure.
- Setup and configuration of cloud compute resources in both AWS and Azure. Linux experience preferred.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.
- Analyze and optimize resource usage to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Implement and manage auto-scaling and load-balancing solutions.
- Respond to and resolve incidents related to cloud infrastructure and services using ITIL tools.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cloud configurations, processes, and incidents.
- Ensure compliance by implementing cloud policies to meet regulatory requirements related to cloud infrastructure.
- Conduct regular audits and review them with IT leadership to maintain security and compliance standards for all cloud environments.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud tools and services to improve infrastructure and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the management and support of IT systems/servers and related infrastructure platforms.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent training and/or experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a cloud administrator with hands-on experience in both Azure and AWS environments required.
- AWS and/or Azure certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites required.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of an enterprise IT environment.
- Excellent understanding of cloud architecture and services on both Azure and AWS.
- Understanding of network systems (e.g., switches, firewalls, etc).
- Understanding of information security concepts and tools (e.g., audit, event collection, threat detection, CVE analysis, EDR).
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Other Requirements:
- Vendor management.
- Flexibility with weekend and evening hours required for scheduled upgrades and non-scheduled off-hours support.
- Travel to corporate regional offices approximately 5% of the time required.
The salary range for this role is$74,600 - $136,100. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
