The Position Job TitleLending Strategy Learning and Growth Officer Job Description

The Lending & Strategy Learning and Growth Officer plays a key role in equipping team members across lending functions with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to thrive in a changing environment. This role designs and delivers high-impact training, supports end users through change, and communicates clearly and effectively during rollouts of new systems, processes, and lending initiatives.

Acting as a bridge between the Learning & Growth team and the lending lines of business, this individual collaborates closely with Lending Leaders, LOB Trainers, and SMEs to ensure learning experiences are practical, engaging, and aligned with lending goals. They are instrumental in helping employees adapt to change, adopt new technology, and build confidence in updated lending practices.

Provides general support for lending-focused development programs and internal initiatives as needed.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Deliver foundational learning experiences-including new hire onboarding for lending employees as well as core lending training-that build confidence and consistency across roles.
  • Design and deliver learning experiences to support lending-specific initiatives (e.g., system enhancements, policy changes, new product rollouts, ongoing foundational training, policy and procedures).
  • Provide hands-on end-user support during system and process transitions-offering job aids, coaching, and responsive troubleshooting.
  • Develop and execute clear, audience-specific training plans to support change across lending teams.
  • Translate technical and procedural updates into easy-to-understand training materials and job aids for end users.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and LOB Trainers to ensure training aligns with current lending practices.
  • Facilitate feedback loops and pulse checks with frontline team members to assess training effectiveness and support needs.
  • Help lending leaders cascade key messages and reinforce change by providing talking points, toolkits, and training reinforcement strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement of the general earning paths specific to lending roles (e.g., Credit Analyst, Mortgage Loan Officer, Community Bank Lender).

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Dresses professionally
  • Complete all required compliance exams on an annual basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's in a field related to Instructional Design, Training & Development, Educational Technology.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in the training and development, curriculum design, corporate training, or related field.

Physical Working Conditions

This is somewhat sedentary work that requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting or standing for long periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking hearing, and visual acuity including close vision.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds of computer equipment or paper).
  • May be required occasionally to stoop or kneel.
