Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Director of Business Expansion to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Director of Business Expansion opportunity is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting the execution of organic growth opportunities, particularly in current product markets through cross-sell/upsell and initiative-based sales. This role bridges strategy, operations, and project management to ensure successful expansion efforts.

Responsibilities:

Market Opportunity Analysis

  • Research and assess potential initiatives and cross selling opportunities in existing markets for expansion.
  • Identify and scope initiative-based sales strategies that align with business goals.
  • Work with internal teams (Operations, Pricing, Strategy, Product) to evaluate feasibility and impact.
  • Develop data-driven models to support initiative prioritization and expansion decisions.

Operating Model & Business Case Development

  • Collaborate with the pricing and operations planning teams to develop assumptions and cost structures.
  • Define operational requirements and resource needs for entry and execution.
  • Develop business cases, including ROI when investment is needed to leadership for approval.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Operations to identify cross-sell opportunities by understanding client needs, service delivery gaps, and how existing capabilities can be better leveraged to expand customer value.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align go-to-market strategies and support initiative-based selling.
  • Engage with Contracting and Legal teams to ensure contract and compliance readiness for each initiative.

Project & Program Oversight

  • Oversee cross-functional project management for new expansion initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Track timelines, risks, and milestones across multiple initiatives to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Proactively address roadblocks and coordinate resources between teams to maintain momentum.

Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop KPIs and success metrics for initiative-driven market launches.
  • Monitor financial and operational performance of expansion projects.
  • Identify lessons learned from initiative outcomes and refine frameworks for future opportunities.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in business strategy, or marketing within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with expertise in strategy, healthcare market research, and competitive intelligence.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, reimbursement models, specifically Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's a plus.
  • Experience working in healthcare consulting a plus.
