Position Summary |
This position will serve as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Research Assistant) with the Muenzer
MPS Research and Treatment Center in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism, Department of Pediatrics. The Research Assistant will work closely with the leadership of the Muenzer
MPS Research and Treatment Center (Dr. Muenzer, Dr. Jalazo, Dr. Stephens, and Lindsay Torrice) to support a wide range of projects at the Muenzer
MPS Center focusing on the pressing medical needs of the
MPS community.
Tasks: may include conducting literature reviews to support new areas of research focus, development of posters/presentations for scientific meetings, and development of manuscripts. Other duties include coding and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data (semi-structured interviews, patient/caregiver surveys) for ongoing research projects. The Research Assistant may also support the clinical trials team with activities including data entry and participation in study visits. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The successful candidate will possess:
* Recent experience in an academic research setting
* Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
* Excellent computer skills (work processing, spreadsheets, and databases)
* Attention to detail and accuracy |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience with patients that have mucopolysaccharidoses preferred.
Experience with preparation and presentation of academic posters or publications is preferred. |
