Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Malvern, PA 19355

Schedule: 1st Shift/ M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm

Hourly Rate: $21.50hr

What we're looking for

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 2+ years' experience in material handling/inventory replenishment

Collaboration Tool: Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances

• Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing

• Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can do attitude

• High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures

• Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking

• Ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus

• Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

• Travel may be required

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

Dock Area Inspection & Maintenance

• Conduct a thorough check of the dock area for: Overnight deliveries

• Packages are ready for shuttle transport

• Newly arrived equipment or components

Package Management

• Monitor email for: Transportation Checklists (TCLs) & notifications of incoming and outgoing shipments

• Confirm outgoing shipments: Placards and documentation (e.g., 2 TCLs, MSDS for chemicals/samples, invoices for international shipments)

Shipping Preparation Support

• Assist with preparing packages for shuttle dispatch

• Choose a suitable container & use protective materials (bubble wrap, pig mats)

• Organize and include all necessary documentation

Supply Stocking

• Maintain inventory at the dock shipping table

• Ensure all essential shipping materials and supplies are readily available

General Dock Upkeep

• Keep the dock area clean and free of obstructions

• Receive and log all incoming shipments (FedEx, UPS, third-party vendors)
