POSITION: Engineering Supervisor WORKSITE: 3901 Willis Road, Grass Lake, Michigan, 49240, United States JOB DUTIES: Responsible for the development of gasoline exhaust and diesel after-treatment system level designs to Tenneco requirements, and customer defined specifications and reliability targets. Provide technical related project management oversight to ensure programs are delivered on time & with technical accuracy. Ensure design meets all customer and internal targets, specifications and requirements. Release DV and PV levels models and prints both internally and at the customer. Lead Program Design Reviews, and PFR&A reviews to ensure buyoff at the major milestones. Lead all engineering efforts to ensure milestones are met. Work with the validation engineer to apply multi-physics computational methods (e.g., CAD, FEA, CAE/CAM) to conduct failure diagnosis and resolve complex engineering problems. Provide expertise to advise and support test methods and to ensure all targets are met. Engage in customer negotiations regarding application of validation technology, validation approaches, requirements rationalization, and quantification of project risk to Tenneco. Provide direct guidance in the Tenneco Ten PLUS product launch process through direct program support and execution. Develop and maintain competency metrics and create customized growth plans for Engineers. Coaching of engineers on analysis of complex data/outputs (e.g., simulations, FEA, CFO} to optimize designs, solve problems or establish engineering standards. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience as a Product Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Project Engineer, or Program Engineer. ALTERNATE EDUCATION: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. ALTERNATE EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience as a Product Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Project Engineer, or Program Engineer. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The required five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree as Product Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Project Engineer, or Program Engineer must have included Design and Release experience within the product development and launch cycle and must have involved designing exhaust systems, utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Development (CFD) to guide design direction and validation. At least three (3) years of the required experience must have involved applying GD&T principles to designs. Experience must have been in the automotive or auto parts manufacturing industry. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 20% domestic travel required. |
