DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a confidential Clerical Supervisor 1, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of clerical operations of the Hearings and Appeals Unit. Your duties will involve supervising and managing clerical employees responsible for processing client appeals and maintaining accurate records. You will also be responsible for tracking and organizing information from the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals for scheduled hearings, as well as communicating effectively with staff regarding pending hearings. In this role, you will assign work to subordinates in a fair and equitable manner, address any personnel issues, and make recommendations for appropriate action. Additionally, you will be required to evaluate the performance of employees and hold conferences to discuss their progress and performance. Another important aspect of this position will be managing the data entry of confidential information. It is important for you to have a working knowledge of office equipment and be able to make service calls when needed to ensure the operational efficiency of the office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- WORK CONDITIONS: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with district offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Bucks County. If no eligible candidates who live within Bucks County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
