Overview:

HGA's Public | Corporate practice group is seeking a talented, design-sensitive, ambitious design professional with good people skills and lots of energy to join our Washington, D.C. office as a Design Coordinator!

Our design coordinators work with senior architects, designers and project managers in all stages of design, including programming, digital modeling, rendering, physical modeling, design studies, preparation of construction documents, construction administration, and coordinating with management, clients, consultants and contractors related to daily business operations.



In this role you will:

1. Accept specific assignments and develop concepts according to parameters defined by the senior architect overseeing project assignment.
2. Manage related components/tasks of projects so that all can be effectively executed, according to schedule and within budget.
3. Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
4. Assure execution of and assist with quality control activities for architectural elements on a project.
5. Review drawings, documents and submittals for document compliance and documenting code review and compliance.
6. Keep lead architect or designated team leader informed of progress; recognizing problem issues, communicating impact to team, and seeking clarity when necessary.
7. Maintain, organize and archive all project related documents.
8. Make an on-going effort to log AXP experience hours and take ARE exams to achieve architectural registration.



You will need to have:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • 0-5 years of experience
  • On the path to licensure
  • Interest in working on medium to large-scale project types in a very collaborative environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Familiarization in working with AutoCAD is preferred, but not required
  • Strong 2D and 3D graphic skills essential
  • Fluent knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and/or other related BIM technology
  • A passion for integrating a client's sustainability goals into projects


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range:$65,000-$76,000
