Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions
As the Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) you will be responsible for assisting with and preparing the evaluation, financial, and operational strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture projects as we grow our business through M&A activity.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Develops the evaluation, financial, and operational strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture projects for the organization
  • Advises on and evaluates deal rationale, financial projections, risk assessment, and financial implications
  • Drives prospecting efforts, supports target activation, and manages pipeline progress
  • Prepares and coordinates due diligence, financial planning, scoping, and integration of organizations involved in the merger or acquisition
  • Monitors post-deal integration activities, including synergy goals
  • Conducts industry research, competitive analyses, and financial due diligence
  • Monitors the accuracy of target pipeline, project flow, and key milestones to ensure the timely execution of transactions
  • Coordinates contact with large pools of independent owners and competitive or strategic targets for tracking pipeline of acquisitions
  • Assists in developing strategy to conduct meetings with potential sellers on-site / in market to build relationships
  • Assists in the preparation of reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, executive leadership and other stakeholders
  • Maintains a willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time, which may include overnights; this could involve traveling to different locations, attending meetings, conferences, or other work-related activities that require being away from the primary work location
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or related field (required)
  • MBA (preferred)


Experience:



  • 2+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity / venture capital, consulting or business development (required)
  • Previous experience working directly with M&A deals (required)


Competencies:



  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills to conduct necessary due diligence
  • Knowledge of research databases and tools such as Pitchbook and Grata
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting required deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop quality presentations
  • Executive presentation skills and presence with a comfort level working directly with senior executives
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong personal initiative and comfort with ambiguity
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
