INSTRUCTIONAL COACH - DIGITAL LEARNING (UPDATED)

Milwaukee Public Schools seeks exceptional Instructional Coach - Digital Learning candidates who are highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders.

Responsible for the implementation of educational technology at the school and district level. Provides educators with pedagogical support to effectively leverage technology in the classroom. Challenges teachers and leaders to fulfill their vision, and advocates to improve student achievement by engaging students in the learning process and personalizing learning. Works to ensure that every teacher in the district has the opportunity to become proficient in leveraging technology in the classroom to access deeper learning through rigorous and relevant lessons. Actively advocates for and intentionally works toward establishing and maintaining equal access to equitable learning spaces (culturally responsive, high-quality, engaging, and relevant) for every teacher and student in Milwaukee Public Schools.

Education Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor's degree in education with a valid teaching license granted by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience as a fully certified teacher.
• Prior coaching experience is desired.
• Evidence of leadership and experience in providing professional development at the district level or significant demonstration that goes beyond working with staff at one school alone.
• Experience in the integration of technology to support student achievement. Google Trainer or Coach certification is desirable.

• Interacts and collaborates with educators and their respective school learning teams on the implementation of district initiatives and the Information and Technology Literacy Standards.
• Facilitates and implements adult learning strategies for professional learning opportunities for district staff in both in-person and online formats. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups.
• Collaboratively develops engaging, tech-infused lessons with staff and provides support through classroom walkthroughs, modeling, and co-teaching. Assists educators in reflecting upon and improving lessons.
• Coordinates professional learning opportunities and resources for school-based Instructional Technology Champions.
• Uses real-time digital platforms to connect educators with each other, students, and outside content experts.
• Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintains expertise in the field.
• Build trust to facilitate change, to plan strategically, and distribute leadership to build capacity.
• Curates and supports Clever Portal for staff and student access.
• Provides technology support and troubleshoots solutions for instructional technology tools
• Manages Instructional Technology website and mConnect webpages.
• Documents innovative learning strategies for ongoing assessment and publication purposes.
• Curates and creates digital help resources for educators, staff, and students.
• Researches and identifies trends connecting software, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other educational areas for the district.
• Participates in software selection and use.
• Pilots new technology, software, online tools, and resources.
• Curates and supports Clever Portal for staff and student access.
• Provides technology support and troubleshoots solutions for instructional technology tools.
• Manages Instructional Technology website and mConnect webpages.
• Periodically collects data on levels of technology integration via classroom observations to inform professional learning supports.
• Works collaboratively with teachers, other teaching specialists, and district and school leaders; provides effective, formative, feedback in an equitable manner.
• Accurately maintains Outlook Calendar on a daily basis and efficiently completes required paperwork.
• Maintains a flexible work schedule, for example, attends and facilitates mandatory professional developments outside of the regular work schedule.
• Supports grants as directed by their supervisor.
• Serves as a strong advocate for technology integration.
• Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position starts at $60,987.04 and increases according to a set salary schedule which is based on years' of work experience as a fully licensed teacher/pupil services educator in a K-12 setting and education beyond a bachelor's degree.

Salary range: $60,987.04 - 114,217.31 (1D - 200-day calendar)
