The role of the Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for driving excellence across Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand and Supply Planning, Hot Market and Inventory Management. This position plays a critical role in aligning cross-functional teams to ensure accurate forecasting, optimal inventory levels, and synchronized supply and demand plans that support the company's strategic objectives. This role will not only lead and mentor the planning team but also have responsibility for day-to-day planning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out strategic direction through the supervision of the Supply Chain Planner roles
  • Establish expectations, provide tools, and mentor employees so that they are clear on goals and objectives of the planning dept
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning Process
    • Manage Monthly S&OP cycle, ensuring all functions are aligned on the overall plans
      • Integrate financial goals to the S&OP process (volume, revenue, margin and inventory)
      • Lead and mentor the Supply Chain Planners in developing the S&OP plan by gathering insights from the cross functional teams and actual demand
    • Facilitate cross functional meetings to align forecasts, demand & supply plans, inventory plans and the impact to financial goals
      • Lead meetings to include Stock review, Sport Review and others as needed
      • Oversee key account S&OP planning sessions to drive alignment on customer plans and the impact to overall plan
      • Lead the supply chain report out on demand changes and impacts
      • Analyze sales data, POS data and trends to develop S&OP plan
    • Identify and elevate areas of concern and opportunities and make recommendations on how to mitigate gaps
    • Develop and Manage the Open to Buy process, aligning S&OP plans to inventory requirements and buy plans
      • Develop Tableau tools to track and allow visibility to the company
    • Implement Continuous Improvement in the S&OP process to enhance forecast accuracy and responsiveness
      • Develop Tableau tools to monitor KPIs including forecast accuracy, Inventory, etc.
    • Utilize the Forecasting tools to align to the S&OP plans, reviewing these plans with Business/Channel Units and sales
    • Manage SKU level forecasts and upload into SAP at the SKU level for stock
    • Review impact of forecast on capacity (globally and domestically)
    • Analyze forecast performance and make recommendations to improve accuracy
    • Lead continuous improvement of the Demand Planning functions, utilizing KPIs and process enhancements
  • Facilitate Demand Planning activities
    • Utilize the Forecasting tools to align to the S&OP plans, review these plans with Business/Channel Units and sales
    • Manage SKU level forecasts and upload into SAP at the SKU level for stock
    • Review impact of forecast on capacity (globally and domestically)
    • Analyze forecast performance and make recommendations to improve accuracy
    • Lead continuous improvement of the Demand Planning functions, utilizing KPIs and process enhancements
  • Oversee Inventory Management
    • Utilize the S&OP planning process to develop Open to Buy
    • Ensure Open to Buy process is followed.
      • Review and communicate what is available, elevate approvals, report out anything beyond the plan.
      • Communicate Stock buy recaps to planning leadership; comparing to open to buys
    • Work cross functionally to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained for all stocked finished goods
      • Manage safety stock levels, min/max levels
    • Utilize inventory metrics including months of supply, Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI), Inventory quality ratio and others to manage inventory in all product types
    • Manage End of Life Strategy for wholesale inventory
      • Establish KPIs and reporting
    • Work with internal teams including category leaders, sales, finance, & B2B team to recommend opportunities for end of life product, slow moving, obsolete and discontinued inventory
  • Manage Global Program Roll Ups
    • Work closely with the commercial team, Global Sourcing & Production, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure accurate demand roll ups of global programs
    • Organize and manage pre-program activities including assigning planning members programs they will roll up, develop communication page on Teams, elevate and help resolve issues
    • Analyze the demand for global programs and prepare reports to take action
    • Work with commercial teams to adjust supply plans to meet supplier minimum requirements
    • Guide business unit and product teams to making decisions for cancel orders for goods that do not meet minimum requirements
    • Provide direction to raw material planning team and global production team to secure fabric and confirm factory capacities
    • Manage Planned Independent Requirement (PIR), ensuring any PIRs have approvals, are entered properly to increase demand, and reported out to management
    • Confirm supply plans and pass requisitions to Global Production
  • Manage Supply Planning activities for globally sourced stock product
    • Utilize and refine tools for Supply Planning activities
    • Review SAP Demand Plans to ensure there is alignment in the supply plan, managing when we need the product to arrive, communicating to Global Production
    • Use output from MRP to develop purchasing requirements.
    • Work with global production to coordinate the procurement of stock & program items
    • Manage MRP exception messages from SAP and communicate with appropriate New Era personnel accordingly.
    • Ensure Open to Buy process is followed.
      • Review and communicate what is available, elevate approvals, report out anything beyond the plan.
      • Communicating Stock buy recaps to planning leadership; comparing to open to buys
    • Manage Open Requisition review for the planning team,
      • Work with Customer Service and Global Production on identifying issues with requisitions that have not been purchased.
      • Organize and execute the close out open requisitions
  • Hot Market Management
    • Create and execute Time and Action Calendars for Hot Market specific products
    • Develop Demand Plans with LMT for hot market scenarios
      • Understand and communicate out: Plan vs best and worst-case scenarios
    • Identify required capacity for Haiti Factory vs Global factories
      • Review demand plans for raw material planning
      • Communicate with appropriate parties to ensure secured capacity
    • Lead cross functional teams to identify inventory requirements
    • Manage the Heat Seal Purchase Order Activities, working with Customer Service and Production to communicate priorities, and ensure clean-up of inventory
    • Communicate detailed information regarding inventory availability including inbound POs and scheduled production with Customer Service, Sales, and business units
  • Manage the planning activities around the Haiti and Miami factories
    • Outline overall capacity requirements based on demand plans
    • Ensure proper levels of raw materials are maintained
      • Make recommendations for raw material stock levels
    • Lead communication with factories, ensure on-time performance
    • Identify ways to continuously improve processes
      • Develop tools in Tableau to manage KPIs
  • Report out metrics for key performance indicators and monitor their use; add, change, or remove measures as needed
  • Understand and maintain understanding of the functions of other departmental positions to provide backup for domestically manufactured products and general coverage
  • Expand utilization of system-based tools and improve current system processes so that Supply Chain processes are more accurate and efficient
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, web-based applications required
  • Familiar with an MRP and ERP system (SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.)
  • Working knowledge or experience in forecasting, planning, and scheduling
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI or other dashboarding tools
  • Detail-oriented; accomplish tasks by considering all areas involved showing concern for all processes and tasks, no matter how small
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of staff and outside customers/suppliers
  • Attuned to the needs of internal customers, employ diplomacy & tact, and work well in a team environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or MS Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; additional experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in Forecasting, Planning and Scheduling or relevant supply chain role
  • APICS CPIM Certification, CSCP preferred

The salary range for this posted position is $90,000- $115,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
