POSITION TITLE

Encapsys Chemical Logistics Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chemical Logistics Coordinator II is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining an effective and efficient inventory control process for materials handled within the Innovation Headquarters including the Central Storeroom, Research Labs and the Pilot Capsule Plant. This role is expected to efficiently perform duties related to procuring/ordering, stocking, dispensing, disposing, shipping and receiving chemicals (raw materials and retains) and supplies handled within the Innovation Headquarters. The position manages the Chemical Waste Process and guides the daily activities of the Central Storeroom Technician I.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory control processes for materials handled within the Innovation Headquarters Central Storeroom, Research Labs and the Pilot Capsule Plant - that are effective and efficient - are developed and implemented.
Duties are performed related to procuring/ordering, stocking, dispensing, disposing, shipping, and receiving of any chemicals (raw materials and retains) and supplies within the Innovation Headquarters in an efficient manner.
Chemical, Equipment and Supply Management
Administer the Chemical Management System including Safety Data Sheet management and labeling processes and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance.
Serve as the Chemical Management Location System Administrator.
Monitor and maintain inventory level that includes conducting physical inventory and reconciliation within chemical management system
Maintain chemical storage area to be clean and organized
Contact vendors for delivery, service, and lead-time issues

  • Shipping & Receiving
    Manage the Commercial and Non-Commercial Shipping request process.
    Perform and support all activities related to shipping and receiving including paperwork preparation, packaging and labeling determination, pickup scheduling, and delivery driver's assistance.
    DOT/IATA/IMDG shipping training and certification required
    Coordinate all Chemical Transportation regulation compliance training
    Order and maintain Hazmat shipping packaging inventory
    Maintain PIV (Power Industrial Vehicle) certification
    Maintain shipping and receiving area to be clean and organized
    Waste Management
    Coordinate hazardous waste labeling, disposal, tracking, etc. (RCRA trained)
    Manage chemical waste drums and accumulation area
    Manage oil waste accumulation and disposal
    Maintain proper control of waste management and its documentation as required by Federal, state, and local government

Responsible Care

  • Be aware of the relevant requirements of the Responsible Care Management System (RC-14001) and follow plant procedures to ensure compliance to requirements.
  • Understand the RC-14001 Significant Aspects of your job and help ensure controls are in place to reduce or eliminate negative impacts.
  • Minimize waste, prevent pollution and conserve energy while performing job tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the environmental, health, safety, security and Responsible Care performance and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • 3 - 4 years of experience with chemical handling and inventory management is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid changes
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Chemical Management and Inventory Management Systems is desired
  • Strong work ethic, self-directed and able to work collaboratively in a team environment or individually with little supervision while performing consistent and with strong follow-up
  • Able to communicate effectively and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Committed to meeting or exceeding customer expectations
  • Capable of working safely with chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Associates degree in Chemistry or other related science field can be substituted for less experience
  • High school diploma or (GED) required
