Medical Assistant, Float Pool- Pioneer Valley

We are seeking per diem Medical Assistants to pick up shifts Monday through Friday, but we can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role, you would be expected to cover various practices across the Pioneer Valley. Towns/cities include:
Amherst Belchertown Florence Greenfield Hadley Northampton South Deerfield West Hatfield Williamsburg We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions/specialty areas; however, float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes). Our Medical Assistants partner with and work alongside a physician or advanced practice provider. Responsibilities include: Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed) Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.) Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Experience Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position. - Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments. - Accuracy and attention to detail. - Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations. - Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens. - Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols. - Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software. - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. - Managing one's own time and the time of others. Strongly Preferred:
