OVERVIEW: We are looking for a Corporate Communications Senior Associate to support General Mills' internal communications team. This role is a key member of the Communications team, playing a vital role in supporting our largest business segment and/or enterprise HR communications for General Mills. In this role, you will partner on the execution of refreshingly authentic communications strategies for General Mills. This position will focus on partnering across the business to develop and execute engaging communications strategies, while also contributing to the broader internal communications efforts across the organization. This role is an opportunity to build skills in strategic consulting and influence, executive communications, event management and creative storytelling - all while having high impact within our business and more broadly within the General Mills organization. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, agile and creative communicator with proven experience in developing and implementing successful communications programs. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies that inspire, inform, and engage employees.
- Partner with key stakeholders within General Mills to drive communication for strategic initiatives, change management, and other programs.
- Execute executive positioning and communication strategies across internal channels, grounded in propelling business objectives, employee engagement, and authentic leadership partnership.
- Develop executive messaging, speeches, presentations, video scripts and talking points.
- Ensure leader communications are consistent, authentic, and tailored for diverse internal audiences.
- Support executive engagement at internal town halls, leadership meetings, and employee forums.
- Serve as communications partner on key internal events by developing event objectives, key messages, agendas, project plans/timelines, review processes and thinking creatively to drive employee engagement in service to business priorities.
- Write and direct the production of communications assets (PowerPoint presentations, videos, emails, meeting invites, surveys, sourcing creative assets, etc.) in support of key initiatives and programs.
- Oversee communications operations for support areas, including consulting/managing air traffic control, maintaining content calendars, updating intranet pages ensuring high-quality, engaging content as well as ensuring the accuracy of distribution list logic.
- Review and analyze metrics and outcomes to continuously learn and drive improvements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of professional communications experience. Some agency experience preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful communications strategies.
- Highly independent self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities on competing timelines, with a bias for action.
- Ability to collaborate and influence across functions and reporting levels.
- Meeting/event planning experience and video project management.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong business and financial communications acumen.
- Experience with internal, external and mergers and acquisitions communications.
- Experience counseling project teams or clients to achieve stronger results.
- Collaborative working style with a willingness to try new things.
- Experience successfully working within a highly matrixed, entrepreneurial organization.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Position based in Minneapolis, MN.
- International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

The salary range for this position is $79500.00 - $119400.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
