- This position is primarily a 1st shift role, but will require the ability to have a flexible schedule to work on 2nd & 3rd shift on a periodic basis to support food safety, quality and sanitation tasks as needed.
- The assignment at least 18 months
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, and weekends and holidays
- Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

- Coordinate and prepare for sensory evaluation and make appropriate decisions around any out-of-specification findings.
- Maintain sensory standards. Represent the plant with the supply chain sensory team. Develop and support sensory training for employees. Partner with R&D, plant operations, and start up team for new product trials.
- Support trials/special projects as needed and report finding
Support annual Food Safety Verifications
- Own Quality System Schedule (QSS)
- Physical contaminant program
- Checkweigher program
- Document review
Support Sanitation Verification Activities
- Support sanitation inspections, Pre-op inspections, Post sanitation inspections, unplanned sanitation inspections
- Paperwork verification and review
- Titration review
- Annual sanitation verification
- PEMP
- Support PEMP
- Support mitigation reports based on results
- Make recommendations to PEMP Lead for mitigation efforts
Lead Sanitation Improvements
- Support SOAP intiatives (Sanitation Optimization Acceleration Protocol)
- Time Studies
- Sanitation improvements (e.g., War on Water), SOAP (Sanitation Optimization Acceleration Protocol)
- Complete sanitation experiments
- Develop and update SSOP's and sanitation documents as needed
- Generate and respond to sanitation metrics and reports
- Provide technical expertise to drive root cause and preventive measures to problem areas
Complete FSQ Support Activities
- Attend and participate on assigned FSRA audits
- Meet all metrics related to FSRA for assigned areas
- Resolve findings identified on sanitation inspections, ICAT and FSRA audits
- Provide FSQ/Sanitation support for investigations
- Support Internal Audit
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality or personal safety
- Support Internal and External Audits VCOE, FSSC, WDA, MDLZ
- Support Pre and Post Inspection process
- Support art copy and schedule verification programs
Maximo
- Create and update WOs, job plans, PMs
- Assigning WOs in Maximo
- Maintaining MSS job task accuracy in Maximo
- Running reports in Maximo, plan and execute against gaps
Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
- Assist with managing MSS work orders
- Support and coordinate shutdown activities
- Work closely with Sanitation TL and Area QE to support sanitation program and address deficiencies and problems
- Ensure that sanitation program is met and implement corrective actions where needed
IPM
- Support IPM program
- Work closely with Pest Control Agency
- Investigate and resolve identified findings that are related to pest control and implement CA as needed
- Identify areas of opportunities, harboring areas to determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent infestation
- Coordinate fogging and fumigation as needed
Training
- Manage food safety, quality and sanitation training material and HOD
- Complete food safety, quality and sanitation HOD
- Backup for new hire Sanitation & Chemical Handling training
Inspector Program
- Become a Level 2 Inspector and assist in Sanitation & Inspection Activities
- Support Inspector Classroom Training & HOD
- Support program execution
Equipment Used:
- Computers, printers, analytical testing equipment, weigh scales, microscopes.
- Softwares used: Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint, Maximo, SAP, PowerBi, MQIS ....
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used: Earplugs, bump hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves.
- Sanitation Equipment/Tools used: Air hose & nozzle attachments, scrapers, mops, brooms, scissors lift, rubber gloves, boots, aprons, water hoses, floor scrubbers, shovels, and ladders.
What you have to offer:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-4 years experience in food manufacturing or quality/analytical lab
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good understanding of risk assessment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities independently
- Flexible with work hours, including overtime and weekends
- Able to navigate the complexity of the plant and learn plant systems
- Passionate about human and food safety
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
