Warehouse and Multipack Shift Supervisor

General Purpose:




Support the Warehouse/Distribution Manager in supervising personnel and activities of the warehouse and Multipack operations in compliance with all procedures of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and affiliates. Coordinate and schedule warehouse operations during shift to include shipping, receiving and material handlers. Satisfy all customer expectations both internal and external.




Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Supervise daily operation of assigned warehouse and Multipack personnel according to cost and quality standards set for the department
  • Schedule, assign work and adjust schedules to meet changing demands and requirements
  • Recommend changes and improvements to ensure consistent and efficient operation of the warehouse and Multipack areas
  • Monitor warehouse and Multipack staff performance to ensure that goals are met
  • Participate in the review process on performance of warehouse and Multipack personnel. Coordinate training of personnel to improve skills
  • Support the Warehouse/Distribution Manager and staff during absences, vacations, etc.
  • Assist with month end inventories and daily finished goods reconciliation and ensure they are finished accurately and in a timely manner
  • Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Manage necessary packaging and ingredients (P&I) for storage areas and maintain accurate records
  • Follow up on delivery to ensure efficient stock of materials for plant success
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring entries in SAP Computer System
  • Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements

Education and Experience



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of demonstrated leadership attributes or team lead experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access and Word) and inventory management applications
  • Certification and/or License - Forklift Certification required




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access and Word,) and inventory management applications
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently manage own and staff's time
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
