Requirements

Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Georgetown University Medical Center, seeks to prevent, treat, and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis, "care for the whole person." Georgetown Lombardi is the research engine driving clinical cancer research at MedStar Health in the D.C. Metro area and Hackensack Meridian Health in northern New Jersey.

The Metrics and Analytics Coordinator serves as the metrics and analytics coordinator at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). The position's primary responsibility is to manage the metrics and analytics required for a National Cancer Institute (NC)-designated cancer center. This critical role serves as the central point for LCCC's research-driven metrics that allow LCCC leaders, NCI directors, and external peer reviewers to assess center progress, generate reports, and produce benchmark data on the Centers program. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage the delivery of high-quality data, data abstraction from multiple databases.
  • Maintain all LCCC databases related NCI-required benchmark metrics, funding data for all active cancer-related research grants and contracts held by LCCC members in DC and in NJ, and overseeing peer-reviewed publications for each member and research program, as well as membership metrics per program and center wide.
  • Develop new databases and analytics in response to NCI P30 guidelines changes as needed, reporting trend data for all metrics.
  • Develop and maintain a metrics dashboard for LCCC senior leaders.
  • Ensure all materials submitted to NCI, NIH, and other peer-reviewed funding agencies are accurate, appropriately formatted, and timely.
  • Develop and submit NCI edata reports to NCI for the LCCC P30 annual non-competitive renewal and as requested by NCI.
  • Support the LCCC Director, Associate Director for Administration and Planning (ADAP) to develop materials requested by the NCI and other funding agencies.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for all metrics reporting.


Work Interactions

This position reports to the LCCC Research Project Manager and performs other duties as assigned by the LCCC Research Program Manager, ADAP, or LCCC Director.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3+ years of work experience in a research administration; Cancer center and academic medical center experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of grants management; NCI P30 experience preferred
  • Familiarity with NIH and NCI
  • Ability to extract data from multiple sources, including NIH Reporter, NIH Pubmed, and other sources
  • Knowledge of database development and management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to synthesize information and communicate clearly
  • Experience drafting executive-level communications and preparing and delivering information rapidly and effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively work with cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
