UCF IT is the central information technology organization at the University of Central Florida, providing technology services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, UCF IT comprises several key departments, including Infrastructure & Operations, Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Development, Information Security, Instructional Resources, and Client Services. UCF IT collaborates with university stakeholders through governance frameworks and advisory committees to ensure alignment with UCF's strategic goals. The Opportunity:

UCF IT seeks applications for our Applications Programmer IV - PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. The PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Programmer IV plays a key role in the development, customization, integration, and support of the UCF PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment. We are looking for an experienced programmer to support and enhance our university's ERP systems, including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. This role involves custom application development, database management, data analysis, and collaboration with UCF IT and campus stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that support student success. Responsibilities:


  • Development & Customization: Design, develop, test, and implement complex enhancements, modifications, and extensions to the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application, including Student Records, Financial Aid, Admissions, Student Financials, and Academic Advising, and Campus Community modules.

  • Application Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system support for PeopleSoft applications, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • PeopleSoft Tools & Technologies: Utilize PeopleTools, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, SQR, advanced PL/SQL, and PeopleCode to develop and maintain custom applications.

  • Integrations: Design and implement integrations between PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and third-party applications using web services (REST/SOAP), APIs, XML, JSON, and file-based transfers.

  • Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and system analysis to improve application efficiency and ensure scalability.

  • Upgrades & Patching: Participate in the application of PeopleSoft updates, patches, and upgrades, ensuring compatibility with custom developments.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Security & Compliance: Work with Applications Security team to ensure PeopleSoft security configurations align with organizational policies and best practices, including Row-Level Security, Role-Based Access Control, and Workflow Security.

  • Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed technical documentation and provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff and end-users.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business units, functional analysts, and leadership to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure Support: Assist with migrations and integrations related to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or other cloud environments where applicable.

  • ServiceNow & Other ITSM Ticketing Support: Collaborate with IT service management teams to track and resolve user-reported incidents and enhancement requests using ServiceNow or other ITSM tools.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with any of the following qualifications:


  • Experience working with two or more PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules, especially Academic Advisement, Student Records, Financial Aid, Student Financials, and Admissions.

  • Experience with Campus Solutions Self-Service, Fluid UI development, and mobile-responsive design.

  • Experience in PeopleSoft programming, with expertise in PeopleTools 8.5x and above, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface, SQR, SQL, and BI Publisher.

  • PeopleSoft certification or relevant professional development training.

  • Strong understanding of Oracle databases, PL/SQL, and query optimization.

  • Experience working in higher education IT environments.

  • Prior experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.

  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud hosting environments.

  • Understanding of Agile or DevOps methodologies in PeopleSoft development.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:


  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative technical solutions.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Hands-on experience developing integrations using web services (REST/SOAP), JSON, XML, and API-based as well as standard flat file integrations. Knowledge and experience with integrations tools like Informatica.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

This is not a remote position. Up to 1-2 hybrid workdays per week may be available following a probationary period, depending on work duties, university and IT policies, and supervisor approval.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,809-$104,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
