General Purpose

The Loan Maintenance Clerk I is the entry level position in the Loan Maintenance Clerk series. The Loan Maintenance Clerk I, with close supervision, is responsible for monitoring various reports and assists the front line with error resolution and automatic payment setup by completing the necessary maintenance on the loan system.

  • Monitors the Loan Maintenance electronic mail inbox for Automated Clearing House (ACH) and Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) payments.
  • Processes loan payoff requests.
  • Works through resolutions to identify errors and completes the necessary maintenance to correct the loan system in Xperience.
  • Completes Account Verifications upon receipt, with proper authorization from customer.
  • Complies with all bank regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Answers incoming calls from front-line staff concerning loan information.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned and/or time allows.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:



  • General knowledge of the entire Alpine Bank loan process, compliance and approval requirements.
  • Background knowledge of bookkeeping and General Ledger.
  • Strong detail orientation, multi-tasking skills and organizational skills enabling the individual to work accurately at a fast pace.
  • General knowledge in computer applications such as Xperience/Silverlake and basic use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro.
  • Ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner to be able to work closely with front-line staff, lending officers and title companies.
  • Skill and ability to respond promptly to customer needs.
  • Basic understanding and application of banking compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as a team player, through reliability, productivity and collaboration.
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality practices and guidelines.


Education or Formal Training:



  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent required.
  • Additional college classes in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar, preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required.


Experience:



  • A minimum of two (2) years working as a bookkeeper using the General Ledger; or in a Loan Administration, Credit Analyst or Loan Maintenance department at a financial institution, preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.


Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment, that may have a hybrid schedule to include remote work and in office but can change at any time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Minimal driving may be required for branch visits and in-person meetings.

Physical Activities:

These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; it would require the ability to reach for and lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may have to lift up to 25 pounds.

Starting Rate of Pay is from $17.50 to $22.50 per hour, depending on experience.
