Job Summary
The Tractor Trailer Operator I (TTO-I) is responsible for the safe movement of freight for the enterprise. The Tractor Trailer Operator I (TTO-I) operates a wide range of vehicles and equipment to facilitate the movement of freight for the enterprise. The TTO-I is responsible for the timely, safe and cost-effective delivery and pick-up of all assigned material and equipment. TTO-Is typically operate road tractors with various trailers on a daily basis. TTO-I's maintain a CDL-A License with Haz-Mat endorsements and forklift certification. TTO-I's load, unload and properly secure a variety of cargo and electrical equipment on a daily basis. TTO-I's are responsible for the proper documentation of Logs, Bills of Ladings, Equipment Inspections, Time Reporting and etc. TTO-I's are expected to be available for call-out rotation, extension of work-day and scheduled weekend work in support of the enterprise. TTO-I'S are also required to be available for major storm support in all regions of the enterprise (North Carolinas, South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana and Florida). TTO-I's must be accountable for adherence to; DOT/FMCSA Regulations, Company Policies, Departmental Policies and Safe Work Practices.
Basic/Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) Safe Driving Record Physically able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. Basic Computer Skills to use Microsoft Office products Basic use of smartphone applications 1+ Years of experience driving combination vehicles. (i.e. road tractors and semi-trailers) Previous forklift experience and certification
Desired Qualifications
Proficient knowledge of DOT/FMCSA Regulations 5 years of experience driving combination of vehicles (i.e. road tractors and semi-trailers) Knowledge of and experience with ELD'S (Electronic Logging Device) Previous experience and operational knowledge of road tractors and various trailers (i.e. flatbed, step deck, Van Trailers) Experience operating piggyback (larger sized) forklift Previous experience and operational knowledge of various types of equipment. Previous experience and operational knowledge of proper load securement Substation Qualified Familiar with Samsara/telematics applications Articulating Crane Certification Basic Rigging Certification and experience
Working Conditions
Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location. Regularly lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. Performs work in an outdoor environment with extended periods of driving. Performs duties during extreme heat, cold and inclement weather (including rain, snow and ice). Prolonged periods sitting/driving in all traffic conditions. Work activities frequently involve climbing, twisting, bending, squatting crawling, kneeling, walking and standing. Work activities include carrying and positioning various cargo securement equipment (chains, tarps, straps and etc.) on level/unlevel surfaces. Work activities will require some extended work days and overnight stays. Will be required to be "on-call" following the callout schedule. Operation of manual clutch and gears on various vehicles. Work activities include reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing of weights up to 50 lbs. Exposure to high stress situations and requirements to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service.
