Job Description
The BU Material Planner II is responsible for maintaining a healthy flow of raw materials in their assigned business unit to support goals for production and cash flow. The planner position will utilize their business knowledge, collaborative, analytical and quantitative skill sets to understand, predict and enhance the organization's raw material position and support AFNA's commitment to "Service Excellence". This position will provide ongoing analysis of inventory health and provide key information to the leadership teams, plants and procurement to support effective and efficient raw material supply chain functions. WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Lead and manage raw material replenishment strategies within the BU to support the Master Schedule, other service priorities and cash flow. Capitalizing on the use of supplier programs (consignment, VMI, etc.) to reduce cash and warehouse footprint.
- Collaborating with the plant materials team, procurement and commodity management, ensure data integrity in SAP is maintained to drive execution through the ERP system to include updated BOM's, independent requirements, safety stocks and other master data.
- Monitor inventory health and set appropriate KPIs to ensure all functions are executing to the desired strategies and supplier consignment programs are working
- Working with the plants, procurement, commodity managers and R&D, create solutions for material shortages to prevent service interruptions.
- Support new customer/products on-boarding within the BU by establishing both scale-up and long-term raw material replenishment models; manage raw material flows related to business changes, transfers, and loss.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Customer Service, and Master Scheduling/Supply Planning partners to develop customer raw material agreements (RMA's).
- Manage, control, and prevent aging and excess inventories throughout the BU, ensuring the plants are using up consignment materials before aging, using alternate materials timely, creating use up plans for aging materials, and consolidating low usage materials into high volume materials to prevent aging.
- Present and communicate information to all levels of the organization working closely with various business functions to develop & deliver reporting and analysis related to raw materials management.
- Leads raw material related supply chain projects and works collaboratively across the SC organization to identify and recommend ways to streamline end-to-end processes and to lean out the procurement process.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or a related field and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling 7+ years
- Demonstrated experience in Materials Management and other Supply Chain functions, CPIM desirable
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and BI, including reporting and graphs
- 2+ years working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Project Management skills or willingness to complete in-house Project Management training
