Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join the Marketing Department in our Chicago office. The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the Firm's online presence and digital marketing campaigns, including the creation and distribution of videos, podcasts, and other digital content that aligns with the Firm's client facing and recruiting goals and promotes brand identity. In addition to curating and posting content and imagery for the Firm's web and social channels, the Digital Marketing Manager also provides reporting and analytical insights to improve the engagement and content reach with targeted audiences. The Digital Marketing Manager has direct supervisory responsibility for junior professionals. They are expected to lead by example, mentor junior members of the team, and embody the highest standards of service delivery. The role requires the development of strong and effective working relationships within the Marketing Department, as well as with other professional business functions and lawyers across the Firm. The position requires an in-office presence in the Chicago office but includes flexibility for some remote work.

The responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Manager will include:

Content Creation:

* Leads the development of impactful client-facing and recruit-facing digital communication materials, including attorney biographies, practice descriptions, deal/engagement summaries, news/press releases, email campaigns, and infographics.

* Monitors competitor content/materials related to client and recruiting initiatives and recommends enhancements for Firm's strategy.

Website:

* Manages and updates the website, including adding and updating content, addressing broken links, and recommending programming enhancements to improve functionality.

* Monitors analytics and prepares engagement reporting and performs periodic review of SEO-optimization to improve search engine rankings.

* Oversees annual website audit to ensure compliance with ADA, GDPR, privacy/cookies, and other requirements.

Social Channel and Campaign Management:

* Manages the Firm's digital marketing channels and campaigns, including social media and email marketing, creating and optimizing content for different platforms.

* Oversees all aspects of video and podcast production, from concept development and scripting to filming, editing, and post-production.

* Plans and executes multi-channel campaigns that support key Firm initiatives and branding guidelines and strategy, including client engagement, talent recruitment, and thought leadership. Ensures all multimedia projects adhere to brand guidelines, are high-quality, and resonates with target audiences.

* Assists attorneys with social media engagement including updating LinkedIn profiles.

* Manages the Firm's e-marketing reputation score. Monitors analytics and prepares engagement reporting, and identifies opportunities to deploy new technology or improve processes.

Department Leadership and Mentorship:

* Supervise and mentor personnel who provide marketing support.

* Advise on relevant trends and best practices and generate ideas for leveraging website, social media, and email campaign visibility and engagement to advance the Firm's goals, and stays abreast of new developments related to social media platforms and email campaign best practices.

* Collaborate with administrative departments to improve knowledge/data sharing efficiency and process improvements where appropriate.

* Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, journalism, communications, or related field.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience managing social media channels, website content management systems/platforms, preferably in a legal or professional services firm.

Technical Skills:

  • Superior writing, editing, proofreading, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and translate technical concepts for a variety of audiences.
  • Web and social technology skills, including knowledge of HTML/CSS and web analytics, and social media management tools (Sprout or equivalent).
  • Fluency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $140,000 - $155,000.
