Foxhole Technology is seeking a Data Broker Services Owner to oversee data integration, transformation, and orchestration activities within secure environments. This leadership role combines hands-on technical expertise with team oversight, guiding a group of data engineers in delivering high-impact solutions. The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer with strong leadership experience, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of secure data environments.

You will lead technical execution while managing tasking, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as the primary point of contact for both government stakeholders and internal teams. This role requires extensive experience with Apache NiFi, Red Hat Linux, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks.



Job Description

    Lead and mentor a team of data brokering engineers, ensuring high-quality technical execution and alignment with mission goals

  • Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines using Apache NiFi, Kafka, and Confluent for both batch and real-time processing

  • Administer and support Red Hat Linux systems in secure enterprise environments

  • Lead the deployment and administration of Kafka clusters on both NIPR and SIPR networks, ensuring secure, reliable data streaming aligned with mission requirements
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of NetFlow analytic clusters to support mission-critical network visibility and threat detection in secure environments
  • Integrate and utilize Splunk for log aggregation, alerting, and operational visibility

  • Troubleshoot complex data flow and system issues using Linux tools, scripting, and log analysis

  • Ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity compliance standards, including DoD Manual 8140.03

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define mission-critical data workflows and system requirements

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support integration across data, infrastructure, and security domains



Minimum Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret (TS)

  • 8+ years of IT or engineering experience in secure or DoD environments

  • Current DoD 8140 (8570) IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)

  • Qualified per DoD Manual 8140.03 (dated February 15, 2023)

  • Extensive experience with Red Hat Linux administration and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)

  • Strong experience with Apache NiFi for data ingestion, routing, and transformation

  • Experience with both Kafka and Confluent platforms, including configuration and monitoring of distributed data systems

  • Hands-on experience using Splunk for log analysis, system monitoring, and alerting

  • Familiarity with common data formats such as JSON, XML, Avro, and CSV

  • Proven troubleshooting skills using command-line tools and system logs

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team coordination abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working directly with government customers
